Movie Night at Home
When the leaves start to turn and the air begins to chill, there’s nothing better than coming home after a long day, getting cozy with your softest blanket while snuggling with your spouse on the sofa and watching movies together.
But do you spend an hour and a half scrolling Netflix or Prime trying to find a movie to watch?
Surely that doesn't happen to just Chris and me! There have been a few times when we just gave up and went to bed and never even watched a movie haha! 🤦🏼♀️😂
I wanted to share some our favorite classic fall movies so I put together 3 “Fall Rooms” to watch movies in and they include a movie pick, a candle scent, and a snack and beverage!
Room 1: Fall Farmhouse Romance
Joe Fox to his penpal: "Don't you love New York in the fall? It makes me wanna buy school supplies. I would send you a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils if I knew your name and address."
“You’ve Got Mail” has to be one of the best rom-coms ever made (imho)! Could you imagine if it was made in today’s age? What would the title be? “You’ve Got a DM”…😖sooooo not the same as this classic.
Lights off, fireplace on! In Room 1 I would light my Sweet Water Decor, Farmhouse scented candle and shake up a caramel apple martini. For our snack, I'd start with a cheese board followed by chocolate drizzled caramel corn. And we can’t forget the extra blankets!
Room 2: Crisp and Cozy
Fall and football go together like copy and paste. I would suggest taking this room outdoors - Wear your coziest socks and warmest sweater and yoga pants and curl up on your favorite outdoor sofa on the back patio with the TV primed for watching “Remember the Titans”. Drink a Pumpkin Apple Cider Fizz and munch on homemade trail mix with ingredients from Fresh Market.
Room 3: Indulgent Escape
I love a room that makes me feel like I’m at a luxury hotel (like The Inn on Biltmore Estate) , so give me a room with the boujee-ist candle scents (Diptyque is a top favorite but for a fall infusion I'd light a Pumpkin Clove from Anthropologie) and let me curl up on the coziest leather couch from Pottery Barn wrapped in their faux fur blanket. I'd pour a big glass of juicy Cab and snack on freshly popped popcorn drizzled with olive oil and sprinkled with sea salt (dark chocolate truffles on the side). For the movie, I would choose “Sweet November” and have a box of Kleenex right next to me on the sofa.
Which room would you pick?
If you can’t decide, the good news is you can have them all!
Now that your weekend plans for October are established, looks like I’ll see you next month!
